Since forming AKF Consulting in March 2002, Andrea Feirstein has advised 39 public administrators across 33 states on consumer-facing, state-run investment programs, including 529, ABLE and Secure Choice Retirement Programs. In all she has 35 years’ experience in the municipal finance industry, including heading the 529 business for Citigroup Asset Management, and serving as an investment banker with Salomon Smith Barney’s Municipal Securities Division (now Citigroup) and as a bond lawyer with Brown & Wood (now Sidley Austin LLP).
Ms. Feirstein graduated from the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Virginia Tax Review. She is an SEC- and MSRB-registered Municipal Advisor Representative (Series 50), and was previously a FINRA-licensed Registered Representative (Series 7), a Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63), and a Municipal Securities Principal (Series 53).
