
Ashley Nabors is the Assistant Treasurer for Financial Empowerment with the Tennessee Department of Treasury, where she leads statewide initiatives that impact the financial well-being of nearly 400,000 Tennesseans. Her oversight includes RetireReadyTN, the TNStars College Savings 529 Program, ABLE TN, the Tennessee Financial Literacy Commission, and the TN Incentive Program for Volunteer Firefighters.
As a strategic and service-driven leader, Ashley focuses on improving operational efficiency and enhancing the customer experience across Tennessee’s retirement and savings programs. Through RetireReadyTN, she leads outreach and education efforts to help retirement plan participants make confident, informed financial decisions and take control of their financial futures.
Ashley works closely with key stakeholders, including service providers and community partners, to ensure high-quality program delivery and drive continuous improvement. She is also committed to expanding access and increasing support for traditionally underserved audiences.
Since joining the Department in 2014, Ashley has held several leadership roles. She was appointed Assistant Treasurer in 2019 after serving as Senior Director for Financial Empowerment and Staff Assistant to the Treasurer, where she helped shape retirement policy and played a pivotal role in launching one of the country’s first 529A (ABLE) programs. A proud Tennessee native, Ashley holds a B.S. in Business Administration (Accounting) and an MBA with a concentration in Finance from Tennessee Tech University.
She lives in Nashville with her husband, Glenn, and their two children, Annie Claire and Franklin.
