An Excellence in Government Award nominee, Brian became Chief of Staff and Deputy State Treasurer of Mississippi in January 2020 under the leadership of State Treasurer David McRae. Brian has more than three decades of experience in public policy and economic development in both the private and public sectors. Prior to joining Treasurer McRae, Brian spent half a decade as a Congressional aide to United States Senator Trent Lott on Capitol Hill, was an award-winning economic developer, served on numerous statewide and Congressional campaigns, and co-founded a public affairs firm. Brian attended the University of Mississippi in Oxford where he earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. He is responsible for all daily operations of the State Treasury of Mississippi, as well as supervision of all agency divisions.
